NASS CANCELLIERE Attorneys Win $6.4+ Million Award For Asbestos-related Lung Cancer Victims

Attorneys Michael A. Cancelliere, Jr. and Casey R. Coburn from the law firm NASS CANCELLIERE represented a Philadelphia couple who were awarded more than $6.4 million for the husband’s asbestos-related lung cancer. On April 13, 2016, after a six-day trial, a Philadelphia jury awarded the plaintiffs $6,489,265.14, with the husband awarded $5,189,265.14 for his pain and suffering, medical expenses and past wages and his wife awarded $1,250,000 for loss of consortium.

The only remaining defendants at trial were John Crane Inc. and Brand Insulations. John Crane Inc. made no offer to settle the matter and Brand Insulations made a nominal offer.

The plaintiff was diagnosed with lung cancer in both lungs on November 12, 2013 as a result of his exposure to asbestos during his employment for PECO.

He was employed at PECO as a helper and carpenter from 1971 to 2001. During the first ten years of his employment he was exposed to a variety of asbestos-containing products, including asbestos-containing packing manufactured by defendant, John Crane Inc. and asbestos thermal insulation supplied and installed by Brand Insulations.
