Michael J. Brown is an associate attorney in our Asbestos Litigation practice and our general negligence practice.
Michael earned a B.S. from the University of Hartford in 2013, graduating valedictorian of the Barney School of Business. While at the University of Hartford, Michael played varsity lacrosse and was also a member of his university’s Board of Regents. Following his undergraduate degree, Michael attended the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. During law school, Michael was a member of the Villanova Law Review and the Villanova Law Federal Tax Clinic. As a second year law student, Michael worked for Alcoa’s Legal Department in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 2016, Michael graduated cum laude from Villanova.
Following law school, Michael started his legal career at The Law Offices of Michael T. van der Veen. While there, he handled a variety of civil and criminal matters in both state and federal court. In state court, Michael pursued claims for plaintiffs who suffered injuries from automobile accidents and slip and falls, while also defending criminal defendants in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and Philadelphia Municipal Court. In federal court, Michael assisted in the defense of civil RICO cases and also acted as second chair for a federal bank robbery trial.
Michael joined the firm in March of 2017 with aspirations to continue his career as a trial attorney. He is currently admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
