Asbestos Suit Involving GE, ViacomCBS Removed to Federal Court

The product liability suit was filed on behalf of Fred Russel Stafford against Crane Co., General Electric, ViacomCBS and other defendants.

Mr. Stafford entered the U.S. Navy in 1948 as part of the Navy Submarine Service. He served on seven boats and retired as senior chief engineman aboard the USS Henry L. Stimson. He then went on to work at General Dynamics in further support of the Submarine force.

The suit accuses the companies of having been in possession of “medical and scientific data, studies and reports since approximately 1929” indicating the dangers of asbestos.
