Canadian Study Recommends Triple Modality Treatment For Pleural Mesothelioma Victims

Pleural mesothelioma is a deadly cancer affecting people who have lived or worked around asbestos. There is no cure for mesothelioma and no single treatment has proven to be effective against this cancer.

Now, scientists at Toronto General Hospital’s Research Institute say a triple-modality therapy they tested in mice might have the power to extend human lives, too. This Canadian study recommends a triple modality treatment program combining radiotherapy, immunotherapy, and surgery to extend the lives of those afflicted with pleural mesothelioma.
