Harry Chirdon, a boilermaker, was awarded $3.8 million in a suit against Foster Wheeler, which began as a manufacturer of equipment for the power industry, Navy and others.
Mr. Chirdon, the plaintiff, was diagnosed with mesothelioma. He had a long career as a boilermaker and spent approximately 10 weeks working for Foster Wheeler. Evidence presented in the case indicated the company didn’t adhere to OSHA regulations. Boilers are insulated with asbestos.
