Vietnam War Veterans At Heightened Risk for Mesothelioma

US military veterans who served during the Vietnam War were most likely exposed to asbestos, which was in widespread use in the military in ships, bunkers, planes and wiring in buildings. This puts these veterans in a higher risk category to contract mesothelioma and other asbestos-related cancers.

Navy veterans are at an even higher risk as asbestos was used to build, repair and protect US Navy ships. Asbestos containing materials had been in use for decades because of its ability to contain fires. It was also used in protective wear and planes on board naval vessels.

Vietnam veterans who worked in certain jobs may have an even higher risk than other veterans. These include pipe fitters, carpenters, shipyard workers, engine room workers, sailors and those veterans who worked in ship repair and maintenance.

If you or a loved one is a veteran and has been diagnosed with mesothelioma, or other asbestos related illness, speak with an attorney at Nass Cancelliere. We have assisted thousands of asbestos victims from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, and have collected over $100,000,000 in compensation for our clients.
